Reassuringly, whatever the weather on Skye, there is always a warm welcome to greet you at Braes Retreat.
The garden apartment, which is completely self-contained with its own entrance, adjoins our own home, Glamaig Cottage. Braes Retreat offers private and peaceful accommodation whilst we remain on hand to answer your questions or discuss your plans for the day. With a warm and cosy feel, our well-appointed garden apartment offers perfect accommodation for two in a stunning location.
Upstairs the luxurious bedroom with a super king-sized bed is complimented by a compact en-suite shower room & WC. Early birds will appreciate glorious sunrises whilst those preferring a snoozy lie-in can gaze over ever-changing views across the Sound of Raasay to the mountains of the mainland from the panoramic bedroom window. The bedroom can be reconfigured with 2 single beds if preferred.
Downstairs a bright and airy hallway leads to the kitchen area. In the open plan lounge and dining area you can snuggle up on the sofa around the traditional wood-burning stove. Smart TV, Bluetooth speaker, CD player, DVD player and iPad are provided, as is free Wi-Fi. There is a freezer, washing machine and dryer available for use on request.
Bed linen, bath towels and tea towels are provided. Braes Retreat is centrally heated and fuel can be provided for those wishing to use the wood burning stove.
You are very welcome to share and enjoy our garden during your stay, whether it is to sit and relax or wander amongst the trees and shrubs, listening to the birds and the trickling burn making its way through the garden.
Bridges cross the burn and pathways wind through the garden, leading to the croft and offer access to the shore. The changes in the weather, the direction of the sun, boats on the water in the Sound of Raasay and the ever-changing view to Glamaig make the garden a delightful place to rest.
Safe storage can readily be made available for outdoor equipment including cycles or kayaks.
Please note that access to the apartment is via a fairly steep concrete pathway from the entrance to the property. Braes Retreat has a no-smoking policy including e-cigarettes and we regret that pets cannot be accommodated.
