Cottages in Scotland on Walkhighlands

Our home, Glamaig Cottage, is a traditional croft house, which has been extended to provide Braes Retreat.

The true beauty of the property lies in its location with breath-taking views and a stunning mature garden with which we fell in love the moment we saw it.

Glamaig Cottage has been our home since September 2003. We moved-up from a hectic life in Northamptonshire to which we know we will never return.

Skye is a truly magical place for us and we are always amazed at the surprises it has to offer in terms of fabulous wildlife, tremendous scenery and “ever-changing” weather!

As with any garden, ours is an ongoing project. We were so lucky to find a garden which had been developed over a period of 30+ years, with a very impressive range of plants and layout based around a burn running through the middle of the garden which cascades dramatically in a number of places on its way to the sea.

Before the turn of the century the garden appeared on BBC Scotland’s Beechgrove Garden series and we would like the garden to feature again on such a programme, once we have truly made the garden our own.

Please do take a look at the photos we have taken of the garden and surrounding area.

We look forward to welcoming you to our sanctuary!
